Matthew 16:16 (ESV)
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."
Talk About It
One day, Jesus asked His friends, “Who do you say I am?” People had lots of ideas, but Peter said, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Peter was right! Jesus is not just a good teacher or wise man—He is God’s promised Savior and God’s own Son. Believing this is what makes someone a Christian. Sometimes people around us are confused or have different ideas about Jesus, but the Bible tells us clearly who He is. God the Father helped Peter understand the truth, and He helps us believe too. When we trust that Jesus is God’s Son who died and rose again for us, we become part of His family forever. We can always say, like Peter, that Jesus is our Savior and God’s Son. This is the most important answer you’ll ever give!
For Parents to Explain
Dear God, thank You for sending Jesus, Your Son, to be our Savior. Help us believe in Him and tell others who He truly is. Amen.
