Talk About It
God wants us not just to talk about loving others, but to really do it with our actions. In this verse, God tells His people to “learn to do good” and “seek justice”—that means making things right and helping people who are left out or have needs. The Bible gives examples: care for orphans (children without parents) and widows (people alone and needing help). In other words, look for ways to help anyone who might need extra care!
A church leader named Basil the Great showed God’s love by praying, sharing with the poor, building places for them to stay, and encouraging others to share instead of keeping more than they need. God isn’t just pleased with big church meetings—He’s happy when we help our neighbors and do what is right.
This week, look out for someone who needs a friend, a kind word, or help. When you care for others out of love, you are showing Jesus’ love to the world!
For Parents to Explain
Dear God, teach us how to help others and show Your love by what we do. Help us see the needs around us and give with joy. Amen.
Family Activities
Neighbor Need Helper
- Brainstorm as a family someone who might need extra help or kindness (a neighbor, friend, or family member).
- Make a small card or gift (a homemade treat, drawing, or supplies).
- Deliver it together and explain you wanted to share God’s love.
- Talk about how it felt to help someone and how they reacted.
Justice Jar
- Place a jar or box in a visible spot at home.
- Each time someone does an act of justice (sharing, standing up for someone, helping), add a coin, paper heart, or bead.
- See how many acts fill the jar by the end of the week.
- Celebrate together and thank God for helping you make a difference!

Ask God to show you one person or way you can help or share this week.
